clear duct tape

permalink | cm(0) | tb(0) | news

at last there is an alternative to the silver.

One of the few knocks on duct tape is that ugly gray color (although other colors are available). Scotch's new transparent duct tape is nearly invisible, yet sturdy so you can use it for repairs and no one may notice.

new airport xray

A scanner the government is testing for airport screening reveals much more than meets the eye to be comfortable for most passengers.

Susan Hallowell, director of the Transportation Security Administration's security laboratory, sacrificed a large measure of her own modesty Wednesday to demonstrate the problem.

The agency hopes to modify the machines with an electronic fig leaf - programming that fuzzes out sensitive body parts or distorts the body so it does not appear so, well, graphic.

xxx

i'm a little wary of posting this review because i know once the term "xxx" gets on my site that i'm gonna be attracting some interesting search referrals. xxx was a fun movie. lots of cool stunts, even an interesting plot. vin diesel basically caries the movie. it has it's funny parts and the ending is slightly less than suspenseful. but still, the idea behind the plot is cool and so were the stunts.

IMHO.

mp3 goggles

permalink | cm(0) | tb(0) | links

if you're a swimmer, or anything else that requires goggles i guess, and miss your mp3's here's the perfect solution for you.

Student Sam James came up with the idea during his work placement when he was visiting the local swimming pool a lot.

"I got quite bored just swimming up and down," he said.

The music player is integrated into swimming goggles and uses bone conduction to vibrate music direct to the skull.

The sound quality is actually better than in a normal environment because there is no background noise.

ps3 cell chip getting closer

permalink | cm(0) | tb(0) | news

Development on Sony's Cell microprocessor continues apace, with SCE boss Ken Kutaragi promising a shareholders meeting in Tokyo that demonstrations of the technology will happen within the current financial year.

....

Sony is thought to be working on the development of an entirely new operating system to take advantage of the parallel processing and high speed networking capabilities of Cell, and this would be expected to feature on all devices powered by the processor.

Some commentators have speculated that if Cell products are being demonstrated by next March, an appearance by PlayStation 3 at E3 the following May is likely; however, going on previous track record, Sony is unlikely to use E3 2004 as a showcase for the PS3, preferring to emphasise the PlayStation 2 range and, of course, the forthcoming PlayStation Portable. An unveiling at a special event later in 2004 is a much more likely option for our first glimpse of PlayStation 3.

a very humorous and simplified way of explaining the tax system and why tax cuts for the rich is apparently better than tax cuts for the poor. i'm not saying i understand it..but an interesting little story at least.

imported cow waste

permalink | cm(0) | tb(0) | news

don't we already have our own supply of this.

Authorities in New Delhi are planning to export cow dung and urine to the United States.

They will use the dung and urine produced by the thousands of stray cattle on the city's roads.

The dung will be processed into compost while the urine will be converted into a biopesticide.

The city council estimates it will be able to produce 160 tonnes of compost and 70,000 litres of bio-pesticide each day.

the hulk

permalink | cm(0) | tb(0) | movies

the hulk used to be incredible. my memory of "the incredible hulk" was in the comic book and on the tv series. i mention this only because the movie was absolutely terrible. it was as far from incredible as you can get. it's the second worst movie i've ever seen (187 being the worst).

it's slower than slow and you're left trying to care what happens next. the action scenes are neat, but even they aren't that incredible. the most dramatic scene in the movie, the moment of truth, between bruce and his father left the audience laughing because noone cared!! we were all hoping it would just end. it did, 30 minutes later.

don't waste your money, on the theater or the rental. rent the bourne identity instead.

IMHO.

IMHO.
